Your Los Angeles Chargers' hire of Jim Harbaugh to be their new permanent head coach represents not only a significant, structural shift in the organization's commitment towards winning, but it also signifies the Bolts having the winningest coach in the NFL.

Through 66 games of his NFL coaching career, Harbaugh has the highest winning percentage of any active coach in the league, ahead of big names like Bill Belichick and Andy Reid.

It's critical to note too that Harbaugh took on the San Francisco 49ers coaching job – the only one he has had in the NFL – after they had a 6-10 season with limited direction as a franchise.

Almost immediately, he led them to 3 straight NFC Championships – one of which resulted in a Super Bowl appearance, where he faced off against his brother and current Ravens coach John Harbaugh in what was nicknamed the "Har-Bowl."

After some disagreements with SF's poor management, Harbaugh moved to the University of Michigan where he began his storied run as one of the best college football coaches of the 2000s.

His return to the NFL and historic winning percentage reflect not only his commitment to the Chargers organization, but his commitment and track record of success that should immediately be reflected in the product we see from the 2024 Chargers.

Led by what is now one of the premier coach-quarterback duos in the league, The Chargers have the infrastructure necessary to be a true Super Bowl contender.

A top-5 pick doesn't hurt, as we'll see what action they take under Harbaugh and a new GM (who should be decided on soon) in the coming months. Bottom line, however, the Bolts found their franchise-changing, culture-altering, Hall-of-Fame hire. It almost sounds too good to be true.
