Chargers Lose FA Veteran Safety to AFC East Franchise
Do not get it twisted, the Los Angeles Chargers most likely are not stressing if they make no other huge additions to their roster before training camp starts in five weeks. John Johnson III would certainly be nice but it's important to remember that LA still has number of undrafted free agents within their squad that they could bump up.
There is a reason why even someone like DeAndre Hopkins, whom Justin Herbert and Brandon Staley have praised amidst his release, is not being heavily recruited by the Bolts. They have a very nice mix of young talent and returners and from the footage that was shared from OTA's and mandatory minicamp, this group has a ton of potential.
But a big x-factor will be that safety position and the worry surrounding this started when LA's rising safety Nasir Adderley announced his sudden retirement around the start of free agency. It's a huge reason why John Johnson III has been linked to the Bolts and now another veteran safety is off the market as well.
Adrian Amos opted to sign with the New York Jets recently... the news was first shared by The 33rd Team's Ari Meirov.
"Former

safety Adrian Amos is signing with the

on a 1-year deal, per

. Amos has started every single game over the last five seasons. Another former Packer joins the Jets."

Amos was originally a fifth-round draft pick and started off with the Chicago Bears. He got better every season and eventually found his way into a starting role with the Green Bay Packers where he signed a four-year deal worth $36 million.
His squad was in a bit of an awkward situation in 2022 but he still managed to have one of his most productive seasons yet, posting 102 combined tackles.
Even though LA wasn't able to Amos, they will see him when they play New York on November 6 this coming season!
