Los Angeles Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert is one of the best in the game today. His ability to sling the ball all over the field makes him special and was a big reason why Jim Harbaugh agreed to join the Bolts this offseason.

Two NFL analysts at ESPN picked Herbert to be the NFL MVP for next season. Under a new coach, Herbert may finally be able to show what he can really do.

Jeremy Fowler was one of the two to pick Herbert as his MVP for 2024.

"Fowler: Justin Herbert, QB, Chargers. New coach Jim Harbaugh will streamline the offense for Herbert and help the talented passer put it all together. He'll trade gaudy stats for more wins, more efficiency and a stronger running game."

Herbert has been great so far in his career, but he has yet to take that next step. Working under Harbaugh, we may finally get to see all the potential that he possesses.

The Bolts rewarded Herbert with a massive contract extension prior to the start of last season, so they are expecting a lot from him. Winning the MVP honor would be huge, but it's all about team success for this franchise.

Mike Tannenbaum was the other analyst to select Herbert to win MVP for next season. He believes a healthy season from the Bolts signal-caller will result in the honor.

Tannenbaum: Justin Herbert, QB, Chargers. Herbert's 2023 season ended early because of a finger injury, but if he plays all 17 games in 2024, he will put up MVP-caliber numbers. The Chargers can work to recover their power run game and play-action passing attack under Harbaugh, and that should lead to a big season for Herbert."

The Bolts need Herbert to step up next season in a way that he hasn't before. There are new expectations for him and this franchise, so they will need their leader to embrace this new reality.
