In this story:

Without a doubt, the biggest question mark that the Los Angeles chargers are facing for this upcoming season is whether or not Austin Ekeler will still be on their roster.

This is starting to become a huge burden because neither side really wants to budge. LA has enough problems of their own such as preparing for the draft and getting ready for Justin Herbert's big extension soon and Ekeler continues to fight for his own contract and the respect of running backs as a whole.

The 27-year-old has made it clear that he wants to stay with the Bolts but he is ultimately willing to go anywhere that gives him the guaranteed money and years that he is asking for. However, it now appears that if he is still rocking a Chargers uniform next season, he will view it as being the 'worst-case scenario."

The running back market as a whole is not what Ekeler hoped when he first requested a trade. Other teams are not looking to throw a big chunk of their payroll at a RB that is getting older and won't carry the offense for a long time. That is probably why he hasn't found a trade partner.

Ekeler joined SiriusXM Fantasy Sports Radio and spoke a lot about his current situation. This is where he revealed his true feelings about the Chargers and how he'd feel if he's still there in 2023.

"Look, I guess the worst-case scenario right now out of all of it," said Ekeler. "I'll come back and I'll have to play for the Chargers for a year and bet on myself and become a free agent next year."

These are pretty powerful comments and I really do want to see what Ekeler's chemistry with his teammates is like after this whole saga if he returns.
