Brandon Staley's reign of terror on the Los Angeles Chargers is officially over. The Bolts have announced that they have fired him as the head coach following a 63-21 loss to the Las Vegas Raiders on Thursday Night Football.

The team also let go of long-time general manager Tom Telesco, as well. This was a needed move for this franchise after a very underwhelming season for the Bolts.

Owner Dean Spanos revealed the reasons behind the decision to fire both Staley and Telseco. He said that the team needs a new vision.

The Chargers have needed a new vision for some time now and likely should have fired Staley at the end of last season. After the team blew a 27-0 lead in their playoff game to the Jacksonville Jaguars, he should have been sent packing.

But the front office felt that he deserved one more chance, which ended up backfiring completely. The dedication to Staley ultimately cost Telecso his own job.

The Bolts' open position will be one of the more coveted among open spots around the NFL. They have a star quarterback in Justin Herbert, loads of talent on the roster, and they play in a desirable location.

The team will be casting a wide net to find a replacement for both positions, and the hope is that the future will be much more promising going forward. The Chargers have been underperforming for years now, and maybe, just maybe this is the move to change that fact.
