Chargers News: Bolts' Passing Specialist Loves Seeing Justin Herbert's Elite Growth
The Los Angeles Chargers will head into the 2023 season with their leader and a healthy Justin Herbert. Herbert's third season as a pro was challenging as he suffered through injuries of his own and missed some of his key weapons throughout the season.
Herbert will now enter this season healthy, along with his teammates, who are set to make an impact all season long. The Chargers QB is only 25 years old, but sometimes we forget because he is so talented and makes mind-blowing plays that only veterans make or some veteran swish they could make. Nonetheless, he still has many years ahead of him that could be filled with wins.
We realize that, but none know more about it than Chargers passing game specialist Tom Arth. Arth spoke to Chargers insider Eric Smith and said he's grown since his time as the passing specialist coach.
Justin just has so much potential and has already had so much success, so I've learned how you coach the elite of the elite and it's just been really beneficial for me. I've just enjoyed having an opportunity to learn and grow. For the last 10 years I was leading and out in front [as a head coach], so I've loved getting a chance to be more in the background and absorb and serve and help any way I can.

Arth is a former NFL quarterback and college head coach. He's been around the block for a long time, and to say such high praise toward Herbert speaks volumes.
Justin has grown since his rookie season; however, he's not near where he should and wants to be. This season is and will be the biggest of his short career. The success of the Chargers will hinge on the success of Herbert. He is the key to where the Bolts want to go, which must happen this season.
The Chargers have suffered too many heartbreaks, including last season's playoff game, but they hope that is all behind them, and Justin will be the root cause of that. LA surrounded their gunslinger with the necessary pieces around him, including the coaching staff, and we'll see if it works out for him.
