Your Los Angeles Chargers wasted no time when it came to addressing their questions about who would be backing up superstar Justin Herbert. Easton Stick was drafted out of North Dakota State University in the fifth round of the 2019 draft and was originally on a deal of 4-years, $2.7 million.

The 27-year-old has only ever seen action in one game during his time with the Chargers back in 2020 against the Jacksonville Jaguars and recorded just four yards. Due to free agency not officially starting until Wednesday, we do not know the official terms of the deal but he is likely to be returning on a similar contract.

The news of the agreement between Easton and the franchise was first reported by the NFL's Ian Rapoport.

Through this move, the Chargers do not have to spend a whole lot of money on their bench QB and can use that leftover cap space to address their other needs. They will likely be pursuing defensive linemen this week so we'll keep you updated on that.

Due to Stick being the first player LA came to agreement with, it also doesn't seem likely that they will be bringing back their second-string QB from last year in Chase Daniel and will instead look to Stick to fill that role and play a few more games.
