Chargers News: Bolts Surprisingly Host Former Titans HC Mike Vrabel for Head Coach Vacancy
The Los Angeles Chargers are currently looking for their next head coach, and the consensus is that former NFL and Michigan HC Jim Harbaugh would land the job. However, the Bolts have now added an even higher candidate in former Tennessee Titans HC Mike Vrabel.
Vrabel recently parted ways with the Titans but is one of the most successful coaches that is available. During his stint with the Titans, he posted a 54-45 record and three playoff appearances.
Vrabel has been working his way up in his coaching career starting with Ohio State in 2011 as a linebackers coach. His first crack at the NFL was as Houston Texans linebackers coach from 2014-2016.
After landing their DC job for one season, he moved to take over HC duties for the Titans. Vrabel is one of the most respected coaches in the NFL, and it was shocking the Titans were willing to let him go.
Vrabel was instrumental in reviving the career of Ryan Tannehill. He could do the same for Justin Herbert. That's not to say Herbert needs reviving but Vrabel could find a way to turn Herbert into his best version possible.
Though the Chargers would be great with Jim Harbaugh as HC, adding Vrabel would be huge for the organization.
