The Los Angeles Chargers head coach search just became that much more interesting. They have been looking all around for the right person to take the lead of this team, and one of their main targets just became available.

Long-time head coach Bill Belichick will be parting ways with the New England Patriots. Belichick is arguably the best coach in NFL history and now will be free to go elsewhere if he wants to continue coaching.

Landing Belichick would bring some stability to this organization, and it would help them in their win-now window. The Bolts have a lot of talent on the roster, but it just hasn't been used effectively in years.

Adding someone like Belichick to the mix, Los Angeles could become a powerhouse for the next few years. However, there is a catch when it comes to Belichick.

Belichick would be a home run addition for the Chargers, but it remains to be seen if he wants to continue coaching. He is 71 years old and may want to call it quits after some tough years in New England.

Even if they did land him, nobody knows how long he would be coaching for. This would be a short-term hire, to maximize this time to win.

However, the appeal of coaching star quarterback Justin Herbert could end up playing into everything. Belichick had his success while coaching Tom Brady, and having a star quarterback gives a team a chance.

While Herbert isn't Brady, Belichick may be intrigued by working alongside him. Herbert has all the tools to be a very successful quarterback, and Belichick could help him grow as a player as well.

The Chargers' offseason just got even more interesting, and they likely will reach out to Belichick for an interview. Buckle up Chargers fans, this could be a very fun offseason.
