Chargers News: Brandon Staley is All-In on His Secondary Defense
The Chargers will be getting a nice test this week when they face off against the Dallas Cowboys on Monday Night Football. Dallas isn't a great team, but they are good and will push this Chargers team with both their offense and defense.
The Chargers secondary has been problematic this season, and they have given up many yards to opposing teams. Head coach Brandon Staley spoke on the confidence he has going into the game with Dallas.
“We believe in that group,” Staley said. “That group is where we’ve played our best football as a team since we’ve been here. We have full trust in those guys. Those guys have played really well together, and now they get to play together full time.”

For the Chargers to get anywhere the rest of the season, their secondary will need to really step up. This season, they have been prone to allowing the big play in games, which has really hurt them.
Dallas loves to take shots down the field, so the secondary will need to be ready at all times. Wide receiver CeeDee Lamb is a true game changer, and he can wreck this Bolts defense if he gets into a rhythm.
Safety Derwin James Jr. will play a big role in this matchup, and he spoke about how the secondary is starting to come together.
“The more you’re in there consistently with the same guys, it’s going to build that rhythm and that trust that we’re going to need,” James said. “The sky’s the limit for us if we come together and play the way we need to play.”

Los Angeles has the talent to be successful, but they just need to put it all together. They haven't done that yet, and it has seen them drop games that should have won. But, this is a chance for them to show that they learned from their mistakes during the bye week and actually put them to use in games.
