Little has gone right this season for your Los Angeles Chargers.

One of the few bright spots, however, has been the ascent of second-year placekicker Cameron Dicker, who appears primed to make his first-ever Pro Bowl.

Against the Buffalo Bills Saturday, he went an impeccable five-for-five in made field goals. Five were from 40 yards or further back, including one 53-yard ace.

Per Eric Smith of Chargers.com, Dicker was relatively modest after the bout, which the Bolts lost 24-22.

"Felt good, operation was clean," Dicker said. "It was good [Friday] being able to hang out with everybody and enjoy time. I think it led to everybody playing for each other... The field goal unit did their job and was blocking everybody. Everything was smooth."

Smith adds that Dicker has gone 24-of-25 on his field goals on the year, and has converted 35-of-35 extra point attempts.

"Just finishing the year strong and continuing to do what we and see where it can take us. Have some fun with that," Dicker said of his approach to the team's final two contests this season.

Interim head coach Giff Smith explained postgame just how imperative Dicker was to the club's offense, and how much they were relying on him.

"That was the plan going in, that we were going to use him," Smith said. "Dicker, he's a cool cat. Kickers are different, but we sure are glad that we have him."
