Just one day after the regular season has come to an end, the Los Angeles Chargers will likely have a vacancy at center this offseason as nine-year veteran Corey Linsley will likely retire due to a heart issue per Jeff Miller of The Los Angeles Times.

Linsley signed a five-year $62.5 million deal with the Chargers in 2021 and has been the heart and soul of the Chargers offensive line.

During his last three years with the Chargers, he has been a key part of the offensive line. Centers often hold the line together, as it is their job to call out defensive schemes and get the line set. Linsley was one of the best at his position. You can see some of his handiwork below:

Before coming into this season, PFF ranked Linsley as the #3 center in the league. The Chargers offensive line was ranked ninth in large part to Linsley's prowess. Sadly, they will be without their star OL next season.

This season, Linsley appeared in just one game for the Chargers after being placed on the Chargers Injured Reserve for a non-emergency heart issue.

Throughout his 10-year career, Linsley was a first-team all-pro in 2020 and made his first career pro bowl with the Chargers in 2021.

We wish Linsley the best of luck in his life and hope that his medical issue can be addressed. It was a pleasure watching him on the Chargers.
