Chargers News: Cowboys Safety Relishes the Challenge from Bolts and Kellen Moore

Major motivation.
In this story:

Ahead of the Chargers Week 6 Monday Night Football contest with the Dallas Cowboys, Dallas safety Jayron Kearse spoke about their humiliating Week 5 loss to the San Francisco 49ers, as well as their attitude going into their matchup with the Bolts.

Per Patrik Walker of dallascowboys.com, Kearse remarked:

"We're a great defense."That's what we are. And if you really break it down and put it into perspective, you watch great shooters in basketball go out there and have rough games, and that's no different than us. They had our number... they beat us bad — speaking on the defensive side — and that's all it was."

Clearly, the Cowboys defense has lost no confidence in spite of their gruesome, primetime loss. Frankly, despite the team's performance, the defense certainly did look good at times. They forced a 3-and-out early in the first quarter, and forced a fumble off of superstar running back Christian McCaffrey near the goal line.

As the game went on, however, the Dallas defense was forced to play on short fields (due to punts and turnovers by the offense), and for far longer than usual, as the offense was unable to stay on the field.

Heading into Monday night's battle, it's expected that the Dallas defense will return to a healthy level of play. While they're extremely unlikely to shut the Chargers out as they did the Giants in Week 1, or even hold the Bolts to 10 points as they did the Jets in Week 2, they'll definitely pose the biggest challenge that Herbert and co. have dealt with all season.

Kearse also spoke on Kellen Moore, the new Chargers OC who was formerly the OC of the Dallas Cowboys.

I'm pretty sure he wants to go out there and put it on us," Kearse said. "But you've gotta put in perspective what we just went through on Sunday, and how we're chomping at the bit to get out there and have our next game on the road. We want to go out there and get the [bad] taste out of our mouth. I'm pretty sure he's chomping at it, but we're chomping at it as well."

The Cowboys seem to have a revenge plot set for Monday night, and with it being a must-win game for both teams, one can only imagine what the contest will end up looking like.

It's clearly primetime for a reason.
