Chargers News: Derwin James Shows Ultimate Respect to All-Pro TE
The Los Angeles Chargers have a starstudded team, and they will be poised to showcase that this upcoming season. They have superstar after superstar in all facets of their team, especially on the defensive side of the ball, led by star safety Derwin James.
James is one of the many defensive stars on the team, and there's no doubt that he highlights the secondary. He will go into his fifth year in the league, and he has established himself as one of the best safeties in the league. When you talk the talk, you have to walk the walk, and that's exactly what Derwin does.
When you're considered the best safety in the game, you're going to get the toughest assignments from your opponents, and none are as tough as their division rival Kansas City Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce.
The one-time All-Pro appeared on comedian Kevin Hart's show "Cold as Balls" and said he goes above and beyond to prepare for the Chiefs and Kelce.
“The team that just won the Super Bowl. I feel like everybody is coming to pay to watch number 87 (Travis Kelce) and number 3 (James),” said James with confidence understanding the competitive history between the stars."
Number 87 from the Chiefs is a problem for any defense, and he's been for the past seven or eight years. James and Kelce have had their fair share of battles, including Week 2 of the 2022 season, where the Cheifs beat the Chargers, but James made his presence felt.
The battles between LA and Kansas City have been must-see TV, and they will continue to be as the Chiefs will continue to be great and the Chargers are trying to get where their rivals are at.
LA will do all it can to accomplish that this season.
