Chargers News: Despite Erratic Late-Game Execution, Brandon Staley Struck By LA's "Consistency"

In this story:
As your 4-6 Los Angeles Chargers prepare this week for their upcoming matchup against the AFC-leading Baltimore Ravens (8-3), they are still feeling the loss to the Green Bay Packers from last week. They know that they let an opportunity fall by the wayside, and it has caused much frustration within the locker room.
Head coach Brandon Staley spoke on this but also knows that his team is capable of winning the type of game that they have lost this season.
"I'm only going to speak from what I saw. The disappointment in all of the losses is the same. With this group, there's a lot of pride and we expect to win every one that we play. When you lose some close ones like we have, especially like two in a row, there's going to be that impact. Similar to after we lost to Kansas City. We lost two really tough ones in a row. I think our guys, any frustration you may have seen is because I think our guys really believe in each other. They believe in what they're seeing throughout the week. They know throughout the game that you see a team that is really capable.”

It was another close loss for the Bolts, something that has become a common theme for this franchise. When a team loses games like this consistently, it comes down to execution and preparation. That all falls on the coaching staff and they haven’t done a good enough job.
Staley also said that he expects his team to rise to the occasion this week against Baltimore, something LA hasn’t been able to do this season.
“I think it's just frustrating when you don't get that bottom line, but what this team has done consistently is come back the next week and prepare, hang tough and be ready for the next one. That's what I expect this week."

If LA can pull off the upset against the Ravens, it could just save their season. They could take the confidence earned from the win to get themselves back on track. But a loss would be catastrophic for them and could send them spiraling down even further.
