We're almost toward the end of preseason, Charger fans. Unfortunately, LA was unable to pick up their second win of the preseason as they fell short to the New Orleans Saints, 22-17.

It was not the prettiest of games; it was as ugly as the weather outside, thanks to Hurricane Hilary, for the Chargers' offense. Bolts starting QB for the preseason, Easton Stick, didn't look as sharp as he did against the LA Rams. It was a lackluster performance for him, but it also didn't help that the offensive line didn't play up to par.

It was a combination of the two as they struggled to find their footing on Sunday. Chargers head coach Brandon Staley spoke on Stick's performance, and even though it was rough, he loved how he fought through it.

“It was an uneven performance in the passing game for us,” Staley said.

“It was a tight game, and we were trying to work our way back,” Staley said. “I really want Easton to get the work. Easton needed to play in a game like this. He was able to fight through some things.”

Stick was less than impressive as he went 21-for-41 with a 51.2 completion percentage, 233 yards, no touchdowns, and two interceptions with a rating of 48.1.

That is not exactly what you want from your quarterback, but Staley liked what he saw outside of the stats.

Staley still didn't pull the trigger on rookie QB Max Duggan as he suffered through a DNP. We'll see if Staley gives him a shot in their final preseason game this Friday against the San Francisco 49ers.

Nonetheless, it was great to see Stick tough it out, and we'll see how he improves this week.
