Chargers News: Elite AFC East DC To Interview For Bolts Job
The Los Angeles Chargers may hire a coach who's been out of the game for a decade.
According to ESPN NFL insider Adam Schefter, the Bolts will interview Buffalo Bills defensive coordinator Leslie Frazier for their vacant head coach position.
Fraizer was the last head coach for the Minnesota Vikings from 2011-2013. since then, he's bounced from assistant coach to coordinator with the Buccaneers, Ravens, and now the Bills.
For the past seven seasons, Fraizer has been the assistant head coach and defensive coordinator for the Bills. He's led the Bills to a phenomenal defense in that time frame while helping lead Buffalo to multiple AFC East titles and an AFC Championship appearance.
He intends to return to coaching in 2024, but not with the Bills. Fraizer is added to a long list of coaches the Bolts will interview. It doesn't necessarily mean Frizer will be the guy, but the Chargers are doing their rounds.
As a head coach, Frazier is 21-32 with a .398 winning percentage. His best year came in 2012 when he led the Vikings to second in the NFC North, clinched a playoff spot, and lost to the rival Packers in the Wild Card round.
It's clear Fraizer can lead a defense; now, will the Bolts allow him to lead the team? We will see.
