The main question facing your Los Angeles Chargers is who their next head coach will be. While Michigan coach Jim Harbaugh is widely regarded as the favorite for the job, former Chargers quarterback Sean Salisbury believes the Chargers should go with another experienced coach in former Tennessee Titans coach Mike Vrabel. This is certainly possible since the Chargers just finished an interview with Vrabel on Thursday.

Salisbury, who spent one season with the Chargers in 1996 and now hosts a sports radio show, believes Vrabel is the guy in part because of his recent success with the Titans.

“I want a guy who has been kicked in the teeth, who understands players but doesn’t let the players run the entire place because you got to know who is in charge," Salisbury said. "A guy who understands winning being in Tennessee with some lesser talent than other places.”

Salisbury also thinks Vrabel is a better option than popular candidates like Jim Harbaugh and Bill Belichick because he will require less control of the team and is less "set in his ways."

Vrabel would certainly be a great option for the Chargers. Even though the Titans decided to go in another direction at coach, Vrabel is still widely regarded as one of the better coaches in the NFL. His last two seasons with the Titans weren't ideal, but he was also dealing with a lack of talent at certain positions that resulted in Tennessee's previous GM getting fired.

Prior to those seasons he led the Titans to three straight playoff appearances, four consecutive winning seasons, an AFC No. 1 seed and an AFC conference championship game appearance. On top of his coaching accolades, Vrabel is often held in high regard for his game management, getting a lot out of players, and the culture he instills in a team.
