Chargers News: Experts Ponders if Bolts will Continue to Fold Under Pressure in 2023
The Los Angeles Chargers have been building themselves quite the squad over the past couple of years but the clock is now ticking for them to really perform when it matters most and that is in the playoffs.
Justin Herbert is going to be paid like one of the best quarterbacks in the game very soon and some key names such as Austin Ekeler may be playing their last season in a powder blue uniform. There is also the growing possibility that Brandon Staley's head coaching position could be handed off to Kellen Moore if he fails to lead this group to more wins once again.
However, LA is doing their best to block out all of the noise and focus on the group they have before them. Their WR depth hasn't looked this good in a while and they will be able to be mentored by Moore who has his own growing history of success. Therefore, opinions on their stock heading into training camp vary depending on who you ask.
Mike Jones of The Athletic is someone that doesn't necessarily believe in the Bolts despite all of the offseason improvements they've made and he is looking at their recent track record of failures instead.
"Moore could very well help Herbert in some regards. However, the play caller was rather inconsistent in Dallas,"
wrote Jones.
"And on top of that, [head coach Brandon Staley] and his players have to prove they can do better in those crucial, high-pressure situations."
