It was no secret that the Los Angeles Chargers definitely could have used some improvements on the defensive side of things as the 2022 season unraveled. A number of injuries and changing rotations contributed to them struggling to find consistency but now that a number of key players have gotten healthy, things are bound to trend upwards.

LA will be just fine when it comes to their offense and competing with the best scoring teams in the league. Even if they are not satisfied with their current core of Justin Herbert, Keenan Allen, and Austin Ekeler, there are a number of big name free agents that are on the market for them to sign.

But the Bolts made the right moves this offseason to set them up for better success this season when it comes to pass rushing. Drue Tranquill left to the Kansas City Chiefs but in his place comes Eric Kendricks. Khalil Mack is also poised to have another huge year and hopefully get back in the defensive player of the year conversations.

Let's also not forget that Tuli Tuipulotu will be playing his first season with the franchise after coming off of a 2022 campaign with USC that garnered him the top PAC-12 defender award. LA's front office definitely addressed this need.

Experts at PFF have been searching for something to look forward to for every squad heading into the new season and for all of these reasons, they listed pass rushing for the Chargers.

"Joey Bosa missing significant time last season exposed the Chargers’ lack of pass-rush depth. In that span, from Week 4 to Week 16, the Chargers earned a 62.1 pass-rush grade — fourth worst in the league. Bosa should be good to go this season, which will help Khalil Mack on the other side, as well as rookie edge rusher Tuli Tuipulotu. Los Angeles also retained Morgan Fox, who is coming off a career-best season as a pass rusher."(Via PFF)

Keep an eye out for this Bolts squad this year!
