Chargers News: Insider Doesn't Understand Why LA Isn't More Respected Heading Into New Season
The 2023 NFL season is approaching, Charger fans. There is a ton to look forward to, with your Bolts and throughout the NFL. There are new faces in some new places, but the Bolts will have their eyes on the prize as they are focused on getting the job done this season.
No excuses this season; it's put up or shut up time for the Chargers, and now it is as good as any to finish the job. The Chargers suffered injury after injury last season, which resulted in their underperformance and, ultimately, their demise in the playoffs. However, they're destined to right their wrongs from years past and have a squad to make it happen.
LA bolstered many of their needs from last season, but some pundits and experts don't think it's enough to get over the hump. A few out there wonder why that is, like NFL insider Tom Pelissero.
Pelissero joined the Rich Eisen show and discussed his confidence in the Bolts and why they will be for real in 2023.
"I know there's this hyperfocus on the second-half-blown lead in the playoffs last season, but that has overshadowed the fact that Brandon Staley was a coach of the year candidate a year ago. You have Justin Herbert, who is a top-three quarterback, but you did it without their top three receivers who were almost never all healthy at the same time. You just look at what they got on paper, it's a really impressive group and I wpuldn;'t be surprised at all if Chargers- Cheifs continues to be one epic budding rivalry in the NFL."
On paper, the Chargers have a top 5 roster in the NFL. Theya re loaded with talent and their rookies will make a significant impact this season.
LA has all the tools to compete with the heavy hitters in the league, and if they remain healthy, they will be considered one of those top teams in the league.
Health will be a HUFE factor for LA, if they are healthy, who knows what they can accomplish. However, the time is ticking on this core.
