As the season continues for the Los Angeles Chargers, they will need to make sure that they keep their offensive weapons ready to go each week. The offense was a little stagnant last week against the New York Jets, but normally they are extremely explosive.

Wide receiver Keenan Allen just broke the 10,000-yard mark for his career, and he continues to be heavily involved in the offense for this team. Chargers insider Daniel Popper of The Athletic sees Allen continuing his historic season and has him breaking a Chargers record in the process.

“Allen will take back his Chargers single-season receptions record: He is playing some of the best football of his career, posting 62 catches for 720 yards through eight games. He is on pace for 131 receptions. And his target share will remain steady — and, if anything, increase — amid the receiver injuries.”

Per Daniel Popper of The Athletic

Allen is on his way to another really strong season, posting 62 catches for 720 yards and four touchdowns on the year. He has topped the 100-catch mark in four of his last six seasons, and it seems that he should be able to do it once again.

The way that the Bolts throw the ball, Allen will have plenty of chances to overtake the Chargers reception record. He is the number one target for quarterback Justin Herbert, and the two players seem as in sync with each other as ever before.

“Allen set the Chargers’ single-season receptions record in 2021 with 106 catches, breaking his own record of 104. Austin Ekeler overtook him last year with 107 catches. But Allen is well on his way to regaining his place atop that list, all while setting a new personal record.”

Per Daniel Popper of The Athletic

If Allen is able to take back his own record, it would be another special moment for the veteran wide receiver. He is one of the keys for this Chargers team down the stretch of the season, and they are going to need him to continue producing at a high level.
