Earlier in the week, your Los Angeles Chargers earned a big win over the New York Jets on Monday Night Football. The team stayed together throughout, and it helped them get their record back to .500 on the season.

Within the game, multiple records were broken by members of the Bolts. Wide receiver Keenan Allen reached the 10,000-yard mark in his career, and quarterback Justin Herbert became the fastest player in NFL history to reach 1,500 career completions.

"Herbert got it on his 11th completion — a 4-yard screen pass to Keenan Allen in the third quarter — in the 57th game of his career. Patrick Mahomes and Matthew Stafford shared the previous record by doing it in their 62nd games."

Per USA Today

Over the years, the 2021 Pro Bowler has established himself as one of the better quarterbacks in the league, and this just shows how special he is. His ability to sling the ball all over the field is special, and he now holds an NFL record.

In the game against the Jets, Herbert didn't play particularly well, but he did enough to put his team in a place to win. Sometimes the best quarterbacks don't have to put up incredible stats but do just enough right to not make mistakes.

Herbert will have the chance to set another record in the team's game this coming weekend against the Detroit Lions. His first few seasons have been fun to watch, and we can't to see what he has in store the rest of the way.

"Herbert also entered the game needing 199 yards passing to pass Pro Football Hall of Famer Dan Marino (16,177) for the second-most in an NFL's players first four seasons. Peyton Manning holds the record with 16,418 — a mark Herbert could surpass in the Chargers' next game against Detroit next Sunday."

Per USA Today

Hopefully, Herbert is able to surpass both Marino and Manning on Sunday, as numbers of that level would likely result in a Chargers win. He has given the Chargers everything since being drafted, and his name will stand in the record books for now.
