Chargers News: Justin Herbert Cleared to Throw for First Time All Off-Season
The return of Chargers franchise QB Justin Herbert is becoming more and more of a reality. Chargers insider Lindsey Thiry made an appearance at the Chargers practice facility and caught Herbert throwing the football on Monday.
The 25-year-old has been recovering from shoulder surgery he underwent after the season. He tore his labrum in his left non-throwing shoulder and was advised not to throw the football for some time. That seems to be in the rear-view mirror as he was spotted throwing some short passes in practice.
This is excellent news for the Chargers, as this will be a big year for the team and Herbert. The team has not won a playoff game since 2018 and has only won two in the past nine seasons.
They look to change all of that in 2023, and it will come at the hands of their franchise QB. Herbert has already established himself as one of the best quarterbacks in the league and will look to prove that to the football world this season.
Justin was plagued with injuries in 2022 as he suffered a rib injury that he played through all season and then ended up suffering that shoulder injury.
This is the first time we've seen the righty gun-slinger throw the pigskin, and it was a sight to behold. We're glad Herbert is on the right-tack and can't wait for him to be 100% healthy.
