Chargers News: Justin Herbert Embraces Hostile Kansas City Environment

It's put up or shut up time for the Bolts.

The Los Angeles Chargers are getting ready for their matchup against the Kansas City Chiefs after a tough loss to the Dallas Cowboys earlier in the week. They know that this won't be an easy matchup, especially with the game being on the road in a hostile environment.

But the Bolts are embracing the rivalry and the hostile nature of playing in Kansas City. Quarterback Justin Herbert gave his thoughts on the upcoming matchup.

"It's always a fun environment," Herbert said. "The fans are great there and it's such a great opportunity to play football. It's one that you always dream of … going into a place like that."

If the Chargers are going to have any chance to take down the defending champions on the road, they will need Herbert to play much better than what he did against Dallas earlier in the week. Head coach Brandon Staley spoke about this and what he expects from his star quarterback.

"We know he's going to bounce back. It's going to start on the practice field," Staley added. "He pours in all the right work and excited to see him back on the practice field. I know he'll respond in the right way."

Herbert wasn't great against the Cowboys, and it cost his team. He wasn't the reason why they lost to Dallas, but he also didn't do what was needed to get the win.

“Herbert is one of just two current quarterbacks — along with Buffalo's Josh Allen — to have multiple regular-season wins at Arrowhead Stadium.”

LA has a big challenge ahead of them this week, but it's a game they need to have at this point in the season. They can't afford to drop to 2-4, so this game is as close to a must-win as possible.

The Chargers know they let a prime opportunity to turn their season around slip by the wayside, and they want to correct those mistakes this week. It's put up or shut up time for the Bolts, and it all starts with how their quarterback plays in this game.
