Chargers News: Justin Herbert Reveals Why He'd Turn Down Hit NFL Netflix Series
This past NFL offseason was filled with a ton of changes and a ton of drama. We had the Austin Ekeler fiasco, which resulted in the running back fiasco (still ongoing), and the Justin Herbert contract extension. All these affected the Chargers somehow, and that's just focusing on the team we cover.
A lot went on, some were good, and some were bad; the good that came from this offseason was the Netflix show titled, 'Quarterback.' The show followed three NFL quarterbacks, former Falcons QB Marcus Mariota, Vikings QB and now-NFL darling Kirk Cousins, and Chiefs superstar QB and NFL MVP Patrick Mahomes.
The show followed the three quarterbacks all of last season as we got the see their off-the-field lives and how they prepare for football games each and every week. It gained a ton of popularity and was beloved by many football fans.
It was a great show that showed you the life of being an NFL quarterback, and as the 2023 NFL season is approaching, the Netflix show is finding QBs to be a part of season two; however, don't count on Herbert to appear on the show.
Herbert appeared on The Herd with Colin Cowherd and elaborated on why he wouldn't want to be on the popular Netflix show.
"I have not approached by it, but I think I'd be a little boring on the show."
"I just never want to be distracted, I want to keep my focus on football and that's the most important thing."

Herbert went on to say that he doesn't have too much going on outside of football, and he has been there and done that with HBO's Hard Knocks.
I'm sure the crew would do a great job highlighting Justin's life outside of the field, but if he doesn't want to do it, then so be it. I know Charger fans would've been excited to get a glimpse of how he prepares for games and his daily routines in that sense.
It wasn't a distraction for Mahomes as he was the star of the show and earned himself his second MVP and second Super Bowl title.
If that's not enough to pitch him, then I'm out of options. As Charger fans know, Herbert likes to avoid the spotlight, as he's done multiple times with his teams social media.
Herbert is a humble guy and does everything he can to avoid the spotlight, which is odd considering he is the face of the franchise. Nonetheless, I'm sure fans would take that any day as long as he guides them to wins.
Cameras or no cameras, Herbert will do his thing and prove to be a top Qb in this league.
