The Los Angeles Chargers will head into the 2023 season with expectations they have yet to have through the past decade. LA has all the tools to be successful, and it will all hinge on their star quarterback Justin Herbert. All eyes will be on Herbert because of his position and how his team will go as far as he takes them.

However, he's still recovering from a labrum injury he suffered last season and underwent surgery at the end of the season. Herbert has not participated in team drills except for a few throwing drills. That might all change, though; according to Chargers insider Daniel Popper, Justin said he'd participate in 7-on-7 drills this week during OTAs.

This is great news coming from OTAs, as Herbert will be the engine that makes all things go. The 25-year-old was riddled with injuries in 2022 which was a reason for his "down year." He should be entering the 2023 season healthy, with better weapons and a better offensive coordinator.

There are no excuses this season. The righty gun slinger must get the job done, and the rest will follow. This is the biggest year for the youngest, his counterparts have done a lot in their time in the pros, and it is time for Herbert to prove he is superior or on the same level as them.

Nonetheless, this is excellent news as Herbert is ramping up for the season that should be filled with a ton of W's. We can't wait to see how he looks in live-action later this week.
