Chargers News: Keenan Allen Set to Emulate Cowboys Pro Bowl WR in New LA Offense
It's no secret the 2023 season will be the biggest for the Bolts in a long time. All eyes will be on the Chargers as they have six primetime games and will show the football world they are the real deal.
It will be interesting to see how they respond to the hype, including the hype all around new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore's offense. Moore will surely take the Charger offense over the top, and so far through training camp, it's looking great. Most of the offense is intact from the past couple of seasons, and it seems like they have the right man for the job now.
Many will benefit from his offense, and none may benefit more than LA's Pro Bowl wide receiver, Keenan Allen. Allen has been with the Bolts for 10 seasons, going on 11, and his role has been in the slot for most of his career.
However, the tide seems to be shifting, and Allen knows it after two weeks of training camp as he told the media he's moving around a lot, similar to how Moore moved around Cowboys Pro Bowl WR CeeDee Lamb.
“With Lombardi, I was stuck at the slot the whole time,” Allen said. “I’m inside and outside now, we’re all kinda inside and outside now, playing everything.”

Allen saw the most time at the slot under former offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi and the numbers back that up.
He saw 553 slot snaps in 2021 with a percentage of 56.89% and 303 slot snaps with a 58.83% slot rate in 2022.
The Chargers can afford that type of decrease because of the weapons they have and the versatility of Moore's offense. Not only that, but Allen said to look forward to him going for deep balls from time to time.
We'll look forward to that, but most importantly, we'll look for a potent, efficient offense that will make noise.
