There were not many things clearer following the Chargers' wild card round exit in 2022 than the fact that a big change within their offense was needed and it did not have much to do with the players themselves. Despite most of them being banged up by that point, they still boasted an array of talent that should've won at least a couple of rounds with their momentum heading in.

The front office and players had clearly grown tired of Joe Lombardi and with offensive gameplays growing stagnant, he was relieved of his duties as offensive coordinator. But then an amazing opportunity opened up for LA as Kellen Moore parted ways with the Dallas Cowboys and the Chargers were able to bring him in.

Moore was able to get the most out of talents such as Dak Prescott and Ezekiel Elliott but Dallas continued failing in the playoffs so a change of scenery was needed for him as well. Most Chargers fans have been ecstatic at the thought of how Justin Herbert and the rest of their stars can get even better under Moore's guidance and he's already implementing some new styles within the team.

Utilizing All Weapons

Austin Ekeler may very well be the biggest winner with Moore taking over the offense We saw how he thrived last season as a pass-catcher, leading running backs in total receptions, and Moore has already shared that he has big plans for the 27-year-old now that he will be returning for at least one more season.

The rest of the Chargers' coaching staff also already love what they've seen from Moore so far. WR coach Chris Beatty has detailed him as someone that is already making a positive difference and looks to teach his guys above anything else.

"Didn't know Kellen but obviously knew of him and the success they've had. We had our practices here with him last year and then we played them the first year so definitely thought he did a great job in Dallas. You could see when he came in here why he did a great job in Dallas and how those things we can maximize some of the potential in our room."

At the end of the day, it's been really smooth, really seamless transition. He doesn't have much of an ego which is good. You've got to be a good teacher at this level even more so, which people kind of lose track of because they're pros. They need teaching, too. He does a nice job of it."
