Chargers News: Khalil Mack Honored With Hall of Fame Induction
The records keep on coming for the Los Angeles Chargers elite edge rusher Khalil Mack.
Mack's alma mater, the Buffalo Bulls, is introducing him as their newest member of the UB Athletics Hall of Fame. The athletics department announced it this past weekend, and Mack acknowledged this accomplishment via X.
Before Mack became the superstar we all came to know, he was one of the most productive defenders in the Mid-American Conference.
The 33-year-old was as dominant as one can be in his position in college. In his time at Buffalo, Mack recorded a total of 327 tackles, 74.5 tackles for loss, 28.5 sacks, four interceptions, 21 passes defended, 16 forced fumbles, and two touchdowns. He holds the Buffalo records for most tackles for loss, most sacks, and most forced fumbles.
Mack also holds NCAA records, tied for first in tackles for loss and most forced fumbles. He established himself as one of the most feared defenders coming out of the draft, projected to be a high first-round draft pick. Ultimately, the then-Oakland Raiders selected him with the number five pick in the 2014 draft.
The four-time First-team All-Pro will go down as one of the best in his position at the pro and college levels. Congratulations to Mack on this incredible accomplishment.
