Chargers News: Khalil Mack Reveals What Stopped Him From Pursuing a Basketball Career
Right at the beginning of the 2022 NFL year, the Los Angeles Chargers made a huge acquisition to improve their defense with a trade to bring in Khalil Mack. They parted ways with two draft picks in order to do so and fans were thrilled to see the franchise making moves to get better on that side of the ball.
Mack suited up in 17 games for the Chargers in the 2023 season and led the squad in tackles. He made his presence felt very clear whenever opposing teams went against him and his resume was already clear before he joined LA.
However, the 28-year-old revealed that he almost pursued a career in a very different field... but chose not to for one specific reason.
Mack recently appeared on a segment of Kevin Hart's 'LOL Network'.
"There was a moment where you weren't playing football, you were playing basketball." said Hart.
"Why not basketball?," asked Hart.
"I was awful," said Mack. "I knew when my coach came to me said I had a D-3 offer. No disrespect to D-3 schools." (Via LOL Network)
Chargers fans should be very happy that Mack didn't get a higher offer or else maybe he wouldn't have winded up in the NFL.
All jokes aside, it's been well-known that NFL players can succeed in multiple sports and Mack is juts the latest example of that.
