The Los Angeles Chargers are bringing in more talent to their offensive coaching staff. They are finalizing a deal to land former USC running backs coach Kiel McDonald to take the same position with them.

ESPN's Adam Schefter was the one to break the news of McDonald heading to Los Angeles.

McDonald joins a great cast of coaches put together by new head coach Jim Harbaugh. Harbaugh loves to run the football, so bringing McDonald in seems like a no-brainer.

He is regarded as one of the better running back coaches across the nation, which should bode well for the Bolts offense. McDonald has spent the last two seasons working under USC head coach Lincoln Riley, so he likely picked up a thing or two about offensive schemes.

McDonald reportedly turned down a few offensive coordinator positions to land with the Bolts. Having Harbaugh leading the charge has been a real game-changer for Los Angeles, and they are already reaping the benefits.

The Bolts are seen as one of the more exciting teams in the NFL, which could be why McDonald wanted to join. Whatever the reason is, Los Angeles now adds more talent to this coaching staff, which will only help as the team begins prepping for the new year.
