The Los Angeles Chargers have been casting a very wide net in their search for the next head coach of the team. It's a smart strategy by the organization, and they can't afford to get the hire wrong this time around.

The Bolts have a very talented team, at least on paper, and they just need someone to lead them effectively. They have been talking with both offensive and defensive minds throughout the process, giving themselves much flexibility.

One name that the team has been talking with is Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator Todd Monken. Monken came to Baltimore from the University of Georgia last season and has completely helped to transform the offensive attack.

The Chargers announced that they had completed their interview with Monken on Friday evening.

Monken could be an interesting name for the Bolts, but the team may prefer someone with more experience. Hiring Brandon Staley without any head coaching experience may have put a bad taste in the organization's mouth, but Monken may be better suited than Staley ever was.

Typically, offensive play-callers tend to be better head coaches, so maybe this is the case as well. He has helped turn the Ravens' offense into a dynamic attack on the ground and in the air.

He would get to work with another All-Pro quarterback in Justin Herbert and may be able to help get the Chargers' offense to be more consistent. They have had consistency issues over the last few seasons, so Monken may be able to take them to the next level.

It remains to be seen where the Bolts will go, but Monken is a very good option for them. He is one route that they can take, but an interesting one for this team.
