Since Justin Herbert entered the league in 2020, he has always been surrounded by consistent talent at the wide receiver position. This allowed him to transition into the NFL very nicely and break records with his completions in his first two seasons.

However, it is clear that as Allen grows older along with Mike Williams, the Los Angeles Chargers will need to bring in another receiver to take the load off of them. They are both about to enter their early 30's and both had to deal with numerous injuries last season.

Therefore, LA's front office may look to bring in a shiny, new prospect in the upcoming draft that will hopefully be passed the torch after a couple of years under their belt. Jordan Addison, after two years at Pitt and one year at USC, is currently slated as one of the top WR's in his class and highly coveted by many franchises.

Addison could be a target for the Chargers with their number 21 pick in the first round. Sports Naut has labeled him as someone who doesn't excel in one particular area but also doesn't have any clear weaknesses. They view him as one of the most league-ready players in his class.

"Addison can run any route you could possibly imagine and he runs with a purpose, expecting to get the ball each and every time. These are traits everyone wants to see from their top receiver. Even if he may not physically look like a No. 1 threat, Addison proved he could be just that in college."

"Ultimately it depends on his fit, where Addison lands, and who will be throwing him passes in the NFL. But he feels like a prospect that will see plenty of early playing time and could even compete for the Offensive Rookie of the Year award if he receives enough opportunities."

Addison suited up for 11 games with USC in his third year of college and recorded 800 yards along with 8 touchdowns. He will definitely be a difference-maker once he hits the league and will be invested into.

Once April rolls around, we will see what the Chargers decide to do with their valuable first round pick. If they do opt to bring in Addison, he will be another target for Justin Herbert and could lead to success.
