Chargers News: LA Interviewing Rams Assistant Coach Today
Your Los Angeles Chargers will interview another defensive coordinator from the Los Angeles Rams today, Charger fans.
NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports the chargers will interview Rams defensive coordinator Raheem Morris:
I know what you're thinking, Charger fans. However, it could be different this time if they decide to give Morris the keys to the vehicle. Take a look at what he did this season with the Rams. His side of the ball was projected to be the worst unit not only of the season but we have ever seen in the century.
Instead, the Rams were in the middle of the pact in many defensive statistics. This is impressive when considering who they had outside of superstar Aaron Donald.
Morris was the last head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 2009 to 2011. It was his first and only shot at the helm. Since then, he has gone to Washington as the defensive backs coach from 2012-2014, the Atlanta Falcons as the assistant head coach, pass game coordinator, wide receivers coach, defensive coordinator, and interim head coach from 2015-2020, and has been with the Rams for the past three seasons.
The 47-year-old has done his due, and we'll see if the Bolts could give him a shot.
