Chargers News: LA Likely to Lose Out on Bijan Robinson to NFC Contender
Maybe we just gave ourselves false hope Chargers fans. When Austin Ekeler first was not able to get LA's front office to agree to his extension terms and requested a trade, our odds to draft Bijan Robinson shot up immediately.
In a perfect world, that is the way it goes. Ekeler probably gets sealed elsewhere to a franchise that can pay him his desired contract and Robinson fills in as the Chargers' RB of the future. However, other teams with draft picks ahead of LA exist and the Texas product has made quite the name for himself.
There has already been a ton of interest between him and the Philadelphia Eagles, who are drafting number ten in the first round, and experts around the league believe Robinson may go higher than previously expected. Multiple collegiate seasons of dominance are clearly the case why and it's looking like LA may not even get a shot at selecting him.
Chargers fans definitely shed a tear when he said Jalen Hurts instead of Justin Herbert when asked what QB he would wish to play alongside but it only further shows why he'll likely be taken early.
Bleacher Report's Timothy Rapp has reported the same.
"The buzz surrounding the Philadelphia Eagles potentially selecting Texas running back Bijan Robinson with the No. 10 overall pick continues to grow. Or, of course, Robinson's agent might be hoping to get his client in the top 10 and wants teams to believe they'll need to leapfrog the Eagles to land him. But if Robinson—who rushed for 3,410 yards and 33 touchdowns in three college seasons—does land in Philadelphia alongside Hurts, A.J. Brown, Devonta Smith and Dallas Goedert, well...good luck, NFL defenses."

We hope that this is not the case because Robinson would be a spectacular fit but this draft does hold enough talent at every position that we are not stressing should it become a reality.
