Chargers News: LA Star WR Analyzes Week 1 Loss, Eyes Improvement Ahead
Whenever a team scores more than 30 points in the NFL, you expect to win the game. Despite the increase in offense across the league, defense is still an essential part of winning games.
For the Los Angeles Chargers, it seems that they haven’t yet figured that out, despite working all offseason to improve things. After their week one loss to the Miami Dolphins, the Bolts will be looking to improve on the defensive side of the ball.
But luckily for them, they have a ton of more chances to show up. It’s just one week, and the team knows that they need to improve if they want to reach their goals.
Wide receiver Keenen Allen spoke on the game and how he is looking for the team to improve this week against the Tennessee Titans.
“It wasn’t good enough (week one), on both sides of the ball. We gotta finish the game offensively. Defense - you gotta slow those guys down and give us a chance to let those 34 points show up and express itself.”
Per Keenan Allen
Allen had a good game against the Dolphins, posting six catches for 76 yards despite the loss. He knows that the offense did their part, but his saying that the offense needs to finish the game well also points to him, knowing it takes a team to win games.
The pressure is on for the Chargers the rest of the way. They have lofty goals for themselves, but once again, they failed to prove that they belong among the top-tier teams in the NFL.
It’s been a common theme over the last few years for this franchise, and it was something that they wanted to shake this season. While there is still time to do so, it’s time to put their money where all the talk has been this past offseason.
