There definitely was a certain confidence behind displayed by the Chargers organization heading into this year's draft that left fans feeling very comfortable. Despite mock drafts being all over the place and analyst pinpointing multiple different players of various position to the Bolts in the first round, things were looking up.

It was pretty obvious that LA was going to prioritize offense and they did so immediately with a new receiver acquisition in Quentin Johnston. They have two very serviceable options with Keenan Allen and Mike Williams but age and injuries will continue to slow them down as years progress and it's good to invest in the future since now.

You've also got to love the selections of Darius Davis, Tuli Tuipulotu and others that will bring a lot of depth to the squad. In fact, head coach Brandon Staley revealed that this was the very reason as to why he felt so at ease heading into the draft process.

"I really think, going into this draft, I know that we had a really good football team," Staley said. "Going into this draft, I felt that it was a little bit different than our first two drafts where you felt like there are still some starting positions that are up for grabs or there may be some things that we need to address, where I really feel good about our starting 22. There's probably a little bit more than that when you count sub roles."

He also stressed the importance of bringing in guys that not only possessed talent on the field but that would also grow the culture they are trying to build.

"We have a lot of people coming back that are really, really good. Now, what we can do is just add to the depth of the team, keep taking good players. I felt like this is the draft where you can start getting into rhythm of just picking the best players on the board that fit your team and your culture," Staley added.

We cannot wait to see how all of these new guys mesh into the system.
