Last season the Los Angeles Chargers finished in the top half of the league in offense, ranking 13th in points and ninth in years. However, despite this, the team became stagnant at times on the offensive side of the ball, so LA decided to make a change. They brought in former Dallas Cowboys offensive coordinator Kellen Moore to help with that.

Moore is known for favoring flexibility on offense, as he was a big proponent of using a two-running back system to give guys some relief. He also likes having guys play in different spots in order to maximize the offensive weapons that the team possesses. The Chargers have plenty of weapons to use, so Moore will have enough to work with.

"Having versatility on the offense, which I think we're really, really excited about being able to use guys in different positions," Moore said. "Align them in different ways and utilize all that. We like to say we've got so much height on this team, we're going to be throwing in a different jet stream. These guys … it's gonna be a lot of fun."

Moore has been quick to point out the ability of his new quarterback Justin Herbert. Herbert has transformed himself into one of the best players in the league with his ability to sling the ball all across the field and lead one of the league's best offenses. But over the last year or so, Herbert has gotten better at his decision-making, and that has really helped him. He has learned how to slow down the defenses in the NFL, which has helped this team.

"Justin's such a smart decision maker," Moore said on The Season with Peter Schrager podcast. "It allows you to really call it in an aggressive manner. He does such a great job. We always say, aggressively take what they give us.

As the team enters into the new season, it's a make-or-break year. After making the playoffs last year, it's now expected that LA will go even farther in the playoffs. With Moore in the mix now, the hope is that the issues that plagued them last year won't happen again.

If the Chargers can limit the turnovers and execute, they could easily have one of the best offenses in the league and be on track to reach the postseason again.
