The Los Angeles Chargers will enter the 2023 season with a ton of expectations. LA has six primetime games, tied for the most in the league this season, and is among the favorites to win the AFC.

The Chargers' defense was suspect last season and is expected to do better this season; however, one thing is for sure, their offense, if healthy, will be up for the best offense in the league. Led by Justin Herbert, the Bolts' offense will be fine moving the ball up the field. Although the offense will show up, they don't find themselves in the top five offenses, according to Pro Football Focus (PFF). And it's not due to the QB or offensive weapons; it's because of the lack of offensive line upgrades.

Adding Quentin Johnston to a stacked receiving unit definitely helps the Chargers improve their projected offense, and Justin Herbert is expected to play extremely well. Yet, without offensive line upgrades, it’s tough to place the Chargers higher. The model may not have accounted for health issues that may not recur next year, but it’s still an issue.

LA took an offensive tackle with their fifth-round pick in the 2023 NFL Draft, Jordan McFadden from Clemson. We're not sure what role McFadden would play, but here is what the OL will look like in 2023. Rashawn Slater at LT, Zion Johnson at LG, Corey Linsley at C, Jamaree Salyer at RG, and Trey Pipkins at RT.

It'll be a massive upgrade to welcome back Slater, who missed most of 2022 with a bicep injury, so that will help the Bolts tremendously. The offensive line will be fine, and although the nine ranking is a bit low, LA will need to show they deserve to be number one on the gridiron.
