Chargers News: LA's Returning Star Will Make or Break 2023 Season
Every single day that more videos surface of the Los Angeles Chargers' rookie camp and early offseason workouts, it's a reminder that the 2023 season will be here before we know it. There was a time in which free agency felt like it was taking forever and the draft couldn't come soon enough and now we are in a stage where the roster is being finalized.
But there is one name on LA's squad that could turn the tables completely for them this year depending on his health. J.C. Jackson, when at full strength, is regarded as one of the top CB's in the league and can make games very tough for offensive stars on the opposing side.
Jackson himself has come forward and revealed that he believes he'll be ready roll once the season kicks off and he's specifically looking forward to their week 13 matchup against the New England Patriots.
We all remember how dominant Jackson was during his tenure with the Patriots. He only got to suit up in five games with the Bolts last season before he went down with a ruptured tendon but his previous play is what landed him a 5-year, $82 million contract with the Chargers.
He's been hard at work all offseason trying to get his body and mind back to full strength. It was not easy for him to watch the team fizzle out in the wild card round in 2022 but he wants to ensure that he helps them bounce back this year.
The Athletic has deemed him as LA's most important player to keep an eye on.
"The former Patriots cornerback looked like a bust free agency signing for the Chargers last season, but he was transitioning to a new and very different system. Jackson and the Chargers hope familiarity helps him regain the form that led to 17 interceptions from 2020 to 2021. He played in just five games and had zero picks in 2022."

Everybody is hyped to see the Chargers' offense thrive but Jackson can help transcend their defense as well!
