Chargers News: Los Angeles Interviews Top NFC North Defensive Coordinator

The Bolts are doing their due diligence.

Your Los Angeles Chargers are certainly not resting on their laurels as they seemingly wait for CFP-winning University of Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh, their apparent top choice for a head coaching role.

Today, LA revealed that the franchise has interviewed current Detroit Lions defensive coordinator Aaron Glenn, reports Eric Smith of Chargers.com.

Glenn enjoyed a lengthy NFL playing career. From 1994-2008, the Texas A&M alum logged time with the New York Jets, Houston Texas, Dallas Cowboys, Jacksonville Jaguars and New Orleans Saints.

He then jumped into a front office role, serving as a personnel scout for the Jets from 2012-13, before joining the Cleveland Browns as an assistant defensive backs coach, then transitioning to the defensive backs coach role with the Saints, and finally now his gig as the Lions' defensive coordinator, a position he assumed in 2021.

The Chargers previously had requested to interview Glenn, but finally had an actual conversation today.
