Chargers News: Mike Garafolo Reveals LA Reportedly Made "Strong" Offer to Jim Harbaugh
Jim Harbaugh and the Los Angeles Chargers are set to meet for a second interview today, and it appears that the possibility of a deal being struck between them is even farther along.
Reputable sources like Ian Rapoport and Colin Cowherd have doubled down on Harbaugh to LA, and now Mike Garafolo of NFL Network has taken things a step further.
"My understanding is this is an extremely strong offer that they have made to him financially. They are now at the point where they are going to discuss staffing when it comes to the general manager and obviously, the coaching staff who is going to work alongside Harbaugh. This feels like advancing to the point where if everyone is comfortable with a lot of the principal factors at play this team could move on Jim Harbaugh and get him under contract here in the near future."

Harbaugh and the Chargers have been linked to one another for weeks, and we imagine the team could have already made substantial progress during their first meeting.
The team can also move forward after having adhered to the Rooney Rule, so we expect the confirmation of Harbaugh's hiring will happen after the second meeting.
Landing Harbaugh has been a huge goal of the Chargers and the fanbase, but it will be interesting to see what kind of monetary deal he will receive. There are reports that it could be around a five-year, $90 million deal, which would be $18 million per season.
Michigan offered a 10-year $125 extension, which would equate to $12.5 per season.
Harbaugh has stated that he wants to win a Super Bowl, and after losing out on the chance with the 49ers—he will be aiming even more to do so with the Chargers.
Harbaugh to the Chargers makes a ton of sense, and we will update everyone with a confirmation once the announcement is made that he will be the new HC for the team.
