With just a couple of weeks left before the start of the season, all eyes are on the Los Angeles Chargers. The team is gearing up to prove themselves on the field, focusing on their aspirations rather than the doubts of critics. The stakes are high for the Bolts, and they seem poised not only to meet but even surpass expectations.

However, the team's composition isn't entirely settled yet, as final roster cuts loom large next Tuesday. While the roster takes shape, trade possibilities also linger on the horizon, although the likelihood of the Chargers engaging in such moves remains uncertain.

NFL columnist Alex Ballentine put forth a trade proposal for each NFL team, and in his view, the Chargers should consider trading away linebacker Nick Niemann, a former 2021 All-Rookie, to the Cleveland Browns.

Los Angeles Chargers: Trade LB Nick Niemann to Cleveland Browns

Nick Niemann is a strong special teams player but doesn't necessarily help the Los Angeles Chargers at linebacker. He was named to the All-Rookie team in 2021 for his special teams wizardry, and he helped the Chargers lead the league in

punt return yards allowed

.But the Chargers are starting to stack up linebacker options who could make the final roster. Amen Ogbongbemiga actually played

than Niemann last season.

If the Chargers can get a pick in return, it would be wise to give up Niemann's roster spot to a younger talent.

Currently, he's serving as backup to All-Pro Eric Kendricks. Niemann's role has primarily revolved around supporting the team from the sidelines. In his initial two seasons, he tallied 25 combined tackles, without any tackles for loss or QB hits, across 34 games. It's evident that his primary contribution has been on special teams.

Niemann's future role beyond special teams remains uncertain, whether he stays with the Bolts or takes on a new challenge elsewhere. As the Chargers prepare for the upcoming season, the team's strategic decisions, including potential trades, will undoubtedly play a significant role in shaping their journey ahead.
