Chargers News: NFL Hall of Famer Makes Bold Week 1 LA-Dolphins Prediction

The Chargers have a tough opening game of the season.

The NFL season kicks off this weekend with a spicy matchup coming from the AFC. The Miami Dolphins head to Los Angeles for a date with the Chargers in what should be a game with potential future playoff implications.

Both teams want to make a statement in this one, not only because they want to start the year strong but because this game could have seeding ramifications as well. Some games mean more than others, and this is undoubtedly one of those for both teams.

Both teams are led by their star quarterbacks, as Justin Herbert and Tua Tagovailoa get ready for another star-studded matchup. But one NFL Hall-of-Famer seems to believe that Tagovailoa will go into Sofi Stadium this weekend and outplay Herbert.

Shannon Sharpe gave his thoughts on the opening game between the two teams.

If Tagovailoa does lead the Dolphins to a victory, it would be seen as somewhat of an upset. Both teams made the playoffs last year, but the narrative around the league is that the jury is still out on Tagovailoa.

Herbert just got paid by the Chargers, and he is, for sure, their franchise quarterback. Tagovailoa, on the other hand, has been playing with the thought that a few bad games could see him lose his job. So, grabbing a win on the road against a potential playoff team in the Chargers would be massive for Miami.

The Chargers will need to be ready to go in this game, especially on the defensive side of the ball. Miami loves to use different rotations on offense to get their guys into space.

Both Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle can create problems for the Bolts' defense with their speed. The Chargers secondary will be getting a major challenge early in the season.

This game has all the makings for a fun classic early in the season. The Bolts and Dolphins could meet again in the postseason, so this will be a good test for each of them as the new year kicks off.
