Chargers News: OC Kellen Moore to Coach on Sidelines In-Game Compared to Former OC
As the NFL season gets underway here soon, the Los Angeles Chargers have some heavy expectations on their shoulders. They want to add to the success from last season that saw the team reach the postseason for the first time under head coach Brandon Staley.
The team has all the tools to do so, and quite possibly, they could be one of the better teams in the AFC. Led by quarterback Justin Herbert, the sky is the limit for the Bolts this season.
One main difference from last season will be the new offensive coordinator in Kellen Moore. Moore comes over from the Dallas Cowboys and will be tasked with getting this high-powered Chargers offense to be more consistent.
Consistency was the biggest issue for the Bolts last season, and it doomed them in the postseason. However, unlike the offensive coordinator last season, Moore plans to be on the sidelines calling the plays this year.
This is excellent news for the Chargers because having the coordinator on the ground can make all the difference. They can directly speak with the quarterback rather than having to do so through a microphone.
It should also help build more comradery between the two men as well. This is a crucial season for the development and growth of Herbert, so having his coordinator right there will be huge for him.
If the Chargers are going to build on last season, it all starts with the offense. They have a strong, wide receiving core and a good running back room, so putting it all together is the key.
At least so far, things look promising for the Chargers. It’s make-or-break time for the Bolts this season, as they have potential Super Bowl aspirations. This will be a very telling season to see if changes must be made at the top.
