Chargers News: PFF Believes LA Should Urgently See This Free Agent Offensive Lineman

A new face in town?
In this story:

One thing is certain about your Los Angeles Chargers heading into the 2023 season and that is that they are 100% bought into the offensive side of things and who can blame them? Justin Herbert has all the tools they need to become one of the faces of the NFL in the near future and they play in Los Angeles.

Even if they haven't been able to find the proper success just yet to win over the city, they need to maximize the marketing opportunities while they can and the average football appreciates beautiful passing and running plays above all else. The addition of Kellen Moore will likely bring things out of Bolts stars that we have not seen before.

And to piggyback off of this predictions for the Chargers in their new season, I think we should take a look at a new offensive lineman that the Bolts could sign in Dalton Risner. PFF provided quite the argument for LA to bring him in.

"The Chargers found a gem in 2022 sixth-round pick

Jamaree Salyer

, who figures to kick inside to left guard after earning a 75.9 pass-blocking grade as the starter at left tackle in 2022. That said, after moving on from flex offensive lineman

Matt Feiler

, the Chargers could stand to add depth on the interior behind two sophomore starters at the guard spots. Risner has been a consistently above-average blocker who excels in pass blocking, posting four straight years with a 69.5-plus pass-blocking grade."

"Risner may very well prefer landing a starting gig, but perhaps the Chargers could sell him on the chance to play his former team, the

Denver Broncos

, twice a year. He also fits well in a very pass-heavy offense, which figures to be the situation under new offensive coordinator Kellen Moore."

LA's front office still has some time before training camp starts to make a move like this, let's see if they make it happen.
