Chargers News: Pundits Skeptical About LA's Chances Against Chiefs

Another chapter in this divisional clash.

The Chargers failed to capitalize on a golden opportunity in Week 6 of their season and now sit third in the AFC West with a 2-3 record.

Kansas City awaits LA in the team's next matchup, and the reigning Super Bowl champs have been a pain in the Chargers' side ever since Patrick Mahomes became their starting QB.

Jeff Miller of the LA Times expressed concerns about the team's next opponent and knows how vital a win is to the squad's dwindling postseason hopes.

Miller: “Doomed” seems a little strong, especially five, six days before kickoff. But this will be another difficult matchup for the Chargers, who’ve actually won three of their past five games at Arrowhead Stadium, although K.C. rested its regulars in one of those games. My bold prediction: another one-score finish, of course!

Miller wasn't the only LA Times writer concerned with the perennial AFC West champions as Dylan Hernandez chimed in his own thoughts about the Chargers' next game.

Hernandez: The Chargers still have high-end talent, so you can’t dismiss them entirely. But they have to turn around things quickly. They can’t count on another late-season winning streak to salvage their season.

Mahomes and company won both matchups against Brandon Staley's group last season, largely thanks to Travis Kelce's domination against LA's defense.

One of the best tight ends in NFL history surely has all of the Bolts' defensive attention this time around, and offensive fireworks are sure to be part of the afternoon clash.

Herbert was quick to blame himself for the team's most recent loss to Dallas, but it'll take a bounce-back performance and a short memory to defeat one of the league's best teams.
