The Los Angeles Chargers completed an interview last week for their vacant general manager position. The interview was with the Chicago Bears' assistant general manager, Ian Cunningham

Cunningham recently finished his second season as the assistant general manager with the Bears and worked extensively with Bears general manager Ryan Poles. Cunningham is more than qualified for the job, as he's been around the league for almost two decades.

He seems like a perfect fit for the job, and Poles believes he would do great if any team takes a chance on Cunningham.

“I want to produce as many GMs in this league as possible,” Poles said. “I think that’s a big thing.”

Any person lucky enough to take control over the Chargers will be a fortunate individual. The Bolts general manager position is a great job, as you have a flurry of talent from all sides of the ball, especially with quarterback Justin Herbert.

On top of that, the Chargers have the number five overall pick in the upcoming draft with a chance to take a game-changer. Oh, and you have an opportunity to pair Herbert with a great head coach—someone like Michigan head coach Jim Harbaugh, who is likely to return to coach in the NFL.

Whether that's Cunningham or not, the next general manager will have an embarrassment of riches and resources. Cunningham has 16 years of NFL experience, is familiar with college scouting, and worked as a director of player personnel with the Philadelphia Eagles.
