Chargers News: Rival Coaches Love LA Among HC Openings
Your Los Angeles Chargers are one of many teams across the NFL looking for a new head coach. After letting Brandon Staley go, they are on the lookout for their new leader.
Among open positions around the league, the Bolts were ranked second for the best landing spot. It seems that rivals around the NFL love the idea of the Chargers, according to Jori Epstein and Charles Robinson of Yahoo Sports.
“If you're fortunate enough to have the Charger situation where you have a top-10 quarterback, top 5, whatever he is, then certainly that is [helpful] because that's the one piece you need and that it's hard to either draft or get," one of the polled coaches said. "That's either 1 or 1a. And then if you already have that thing in place, then you don't have cap space."

The Chargers have Justin Herbert on the roster, which is a selling point to prospective coaches. It's hard to find a good quarterback to work with, and most coaches want to have an established player to build around.
Los Angeles has the tools to become a true contender, but they need the correct leader. They are a sleeping giant in terms of being a big market team, but they haven't had the correct structure in place.
“You could say whatever you want about the Spanoses [Chargers ownership]. Who really knows what they pay for, what they don't pay for. Are they cheap? They have a quarterback. They're building a brand new training facility. The cap is a little bit messed up, but you've got stability there. I'd run there.”

The Chargers have to get the hire correct this offseason, otherwise, they run the risk of having more wasted years. The win-now window is slim in this league, so the Bolts need to find a way to take advantage down the line.
